The Facts: Hematite is the mineral form of iron. It is harder than pure iron, but care must be taken because it is also brittle. This extremely popular gemstone was one of the most used stones in the ancient world.
Hematite is believed to reflect negativity back to its source, reduce stress, and act as an aid for good sleep. It is believed to promote mental clarity and intuition.
Typical Colours: Black to steel grey, also found in brown to red forms.
